Owing to the career plunge I committed to in end 2018, 2019 saw a spike in my travel (and airplane carbon) footprint with the following travels completed:
- February/ March: London/ Krakow (3 weeks) - April: Melbourne with family (1.5 weeks)
- July/ August: London/ Krakow (1.5 weeks)
- August: Bangkok (long weekend)
- November: Vietnam, Danang (long weekend)
- December: Israel/ Palestine/ Rome/ Assisi (2 weeks)
- December: Sydney (5 days)
Safe to say, the travel bug in me is biting no longer and the only craving I have for the next year is perhaps some Asian destinations to assuage the intense Asian food cravings I have.
What I've learnt from my travels this year:
- The immense amount of support I need to get through hard times at work. The frustration that consumed me during my time in London in February was only mended by the love and support of friends (in particular delle and sumy) there and family back home.
- Family is as wonderful as it is crazy
- Industry people actually care for what I've to say - which is insane because half the time I feel like I'm just flailing in the deep end of the pool
- I am intensely allergic to haze and bad air quality - Krakow in Winter and Hazy Sydney confirmed that 200000x over
- The Bible is a map, the tales and steps clocked along the sea of Galilee are real and I am very deeply loved and blessed.
